Daddy Adventures, The Dinner Edition

Now that the Christmas tree is up we can no longer see the television from the kitchen table...oh the horror!!!!

Never fear because Daddy is here!  This was the setup at our house last Saturday afternoon after the distress call came,

"We can't see the TV!"

Daddy knows how to make the boys happy.

Daddy Adventures, The Sandcastle Edition

After spending a few days in Cuba we seemed to hit our stride, find our groove, or like old cows follow the same path each day-completely content to do so.  Our path was usually the beach in the morning followed by some pool time in the afternoon.  Not a bad way to live I gotta say.

Daddy loves to dig in the sand just as much (maybe even possibly sometimes more) as Benny and Jackie so each day involved some sort of building.  Think we garnered a bit of a reputation on the beach because people would pass and ask what we were building that day or comment on how big the castle had grown from the day before!

Forts From Daddy

Who loves a good fort?  My boys do!  What is the preferred building material???  My couch cushions of course!  Even though these boys have an extensive collection of invent-a-tent it always comes back to this.

Island Adventures A La Daddy

Ever dreamed about being a true pirate and setting out for adventure?  Well Benny was in heaven on our trip to visit a girlfriend and her son (who happens to be Ben's bes friend in the world!).  Just off the beach was a real shipwreck!  A paddle boat sunk and left to the ravages of the open sea (er...lake).  Three boys all age seven spent a good half hour attempting to bring the ship to shore.  The did a pretty good job of it!

Enter head pirate (aka Daddy).  The boat was pulled to shore in no time and plans were laid to set sail to an island no too far away where they would find their treasures.

Enter huge rain storm (aka dream destroyer).  All the pirates were gathered by their Mom's and told to get back to the trailer as soon as possible.

Dreams for another day...

Daddy Adventures

These boys have one of the best Dads around. To give you an idea, when I had Ben I was quite ill afterwards and Don was the one who did all the night feedings. When I went back to work he became a member of the 'Mommy group' formed by some girlfriends of mine. He never sent the boys to daycare even when he worked nights the night before and he plays Hotwheels, Lego, and trains until the boys are done. He is as hands on as they come.

Last night after Daddy got home from work he decided to take the boys to the school yard to see if there were any puddles that needed bicycles driven through them. Ben and Jack were more than happy to oblige!
